Planting trees with Hotels for Trees
Together with Hotels for Trees, we plant trees to create a greener hotel industry. We plant a tree whenever a guest chooses to skip the mid-stay room cleaning service. In this way, we work closely with our hotel guests to promote sustainability and a greener planet. As a result, we’ve already planted thousands of trees! At the annual tree-planting day, we’re also happy to lend a hand with planting trees ourselves.
To plant even more trees, we’ve also embraced the ‘Meetings for Trees’ initiative. If you book a business meeting at Kapellerput , you have the option to offset your carbon footprint by planting trees. Planting a tree costs €5.25, and you decide how many trees to plant.
Our sustainable development goals
The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set by the United Nations have inspired us. Many of Kapellerput 's activities already align with these SDGs. Our Green Team, consisting of representatives from all departments, has made a selection of the goals that apply to us and with which we can really make a difference. We chose 6 goals that we are already actively working on and where we want to achieve more in the future. These are: good quality education, clean water and sanitation, responsible consumption and production, living on the land, partnership to achieve goals and good health and well-being.
Ginkgo philosophy
On arrival, you immediately see the Ginkgo tree in our 'front garden'. This Japanese walnut tree symbolises the Ginkgo philosophy at Kapellerput, in which we find it important to stimulate employees' growth and development. The ancient Ginkgo tree is probably the oldest living plant species in the world and still exists today because over the years it has continually adapted to changing circumstances. A wonderful place for guests and staff to talk about growth and development.
