Planting trees for Hotels for Trees

Sustainability is not a promise for later, but a choice we make today. At Kapellerput , we believe in the power of small conscious steps that together make a big difference. On 6 February, Rik Hüsken and Sander Martens, on behalf of our Green Team, travelled to Turnhout (Belgium) to plant trees at the invitation of Hotels for Trees. In cooperation with Trees for All and a group of enthusiastic volunteers and hotel partners, no fewer than 1,000 trees were planted in Landschap De Liereman.

These trees - including native species such as pedunculate and sessile oak, lime, spork, rowan and hazel - are more than just new greenery. They are an essential part of the ecosystem and enhance biodiversity in the nature reserve. By carefully choosing native species, we contribute to a healthy, resilient forest that provides a home for birds, insects and other animals.

Kapellerput has long been a proud partner of Hotels for Trees, an initiative that makes sustainable travel concrete. Guests staying with us can choose to skip the mid-term cleaning - and in exchange, a tree is planted. Thanks to this partnership, we have now (March '26) had 5322 trees planted.

Thank you to all our guests, for your sustainable choices. Because every night without cleaning contributes to a vibrant, healthy nature. And we all benefit from that.
